Communication can be taught.
Communication isn't something you're either good at or you're not. It can be taught, practised, developed and measured.
We don't believe great communicators are simply born that way. Communication is a collection of skills, and skills can be understood, practised and developed.
That means getting beyond theory. You have to speak. Listen. Try something. Get it wrong. Notice what happened. Receive feedback. Try again.
Because you don't become a better communicator by learning about communication. You become one by communicating.
From the inside out.
Our work is built around an original curriculum that looks at communication from the inside out: beginning with how we understand and manage ourselves, and moving through how we express ideas, exchange with others, collaborate, influence and ultimately create impact.
Each layer develops a different part of how we communicate, while building on everything that came before.
Start where you are.
Before we try to improve anything, we establish a starting point. Depending on the programme, that can include self-evaluation, observation and a baseline speaking exercise. We look at what is already working, where habits may be getting in the way and which skills have the greatest opportunity for development.
There isn't one right way to communicate.
The aim isn't to make everybody sound polished, perform in the same way or follow a formula. A quiet leader doesn't need to become the loudest person in the room. A non-native English speaker doesn't need to lose the qualities that make their voice distinctive. And a brilliant storyteller doesn't need to become a corporate presenter.
We work with what is already there, and develop the range, awareness and skill to communicate effectively in different situations, with different people and for different purposes.
